Back in the 70’s I used to see Rap around Honolulu and this CD has all the great bits that Rap was famous for. Had to have it for my memories.

Funny CD. Heard “Room 112″ on an Hawaiian Artists’ Collection CD, while in Hawaii. Had to get the original CD. Glad to find it on Amazon. Really enjoy it!

I too am from Maui originally, and if you don’t understand slang Hawaiian, and the Pidgeon English way of speaking in Hawaii, you may not understand this CD. It is so funny, I laughed so hard. My husband has to have me translate some of the words, as they are all mixed with Hawaiian, Japanese, Philipino and English which is how the real Hawaiians speak. It is a joy to listen to it. Fate Yanagi is my favorite one, gosh I laughed so hard. If you want to learn the true Hawaiian Pidgeon English, listen to this CD, and you will know how people speak in Hawaii. Great entertainment, and a hoot to listen to.

I live in Hawaii, theres nothing better than comedy like Rap Replinger and Frank DeLima. Heck, you should get this CD, but you gotta know “da kine way of speak”, or else “it goin’ go sound like one junk CD”. Learn “choke” pidjin language before you get this CD.

Rap’s first solo album without Booga Booga and winner of the 1979 Na Hoku Hanohano award for Best Comedy Album. Who can forget classic lines such as “Like sand in the BVDs, so are the lives of the Young Kanakas,”and “tell Fate Yanagi I love her, tell Fate Yanagi I need her, tell Fate Yanagi no go cry, and no go out with Mits Funai”? Politically incorrect but especially hilarious is the “Japanese Roll Call,” which the late radio legend Hal “Aku” Lewis used to play every opening day of the Hawai’i State Legislature.
